Dear members of the American Resistance,
Finally some good news on the ICE front. Things are moving, in the right both directions: As the federal government unleashes illegal violence–intensifing the abuse and repression against Minnesotans–, more city councils and elected officials realize how serious the threat is.
Moving into the right direction:
Washtenaw County banned ICE from county properties. Well done 🧡Ann Arbor Indivisible🧡, 🧡A2Resist🧡, 🧡Western Wayne Indivisible🧡, 🧡Ypsilanti Indivisible🧡, and 🧡Huron Valley Indivisible🧡! What a crack squad!!
Sterling Heights Mayor doesn’t have enough harsh words to talk about ICE. View his uplifting speech here, that provides us with stellar material for our demands to other mayor/city councils they stop all collaboration with ICE.
Avelo stopped its collaboration with ICE, as you know already. Feels so good, I put it there again with a Maddow clip.
Stagnating:
Gabriela Santiago-Romero’s memo to prohibit ICE on Detroit properties, near churches and schools met great support from the community, but we haven’t heard anything since last week. Please be ready to jump on another city council board meeting very soon to keep pushing.
Moving into the wrong direction:
1/ A Venezuelan man has been abducted by ICE in Royal Oak yesterday, and we found out that the POLICE turned him to ICE. So, on Monday 26th at 7:30 PM, we are packing the room of the City Commission (206 South Troy St – Room 121). Please show up in support even if you won’t speak up to demand the Royal Oak police entirely break with ICE.
2/ We became aware that 3 other companies, GlobalX, Key Lime, and Eastern Air Express, have flown thousands of people from Detroit to Louisiana from Willow Run airport in Ypsilanti. Yesterday, 1/21, dozens of people joined the board meeting of the Wayne County Airport authority, both in person and online, to ask questions about their collaboration with ICE. The airport authority denied it, claiming that they do not have contracts with ICE. Contradicting their assertions, there are these 88 flights in 2025 to Alexandria, LA where a detention center awaited the people on board to be deport. This article is very helpful in understanding the bad faith we are dealing with. Thanks to 🧡Meta🧡 for finding it. Even more concerning, in the face of public uproar, the board ended the meeting earlier and ignored the attendees on Zoom who reported raising their hand to speak, and being denied the right to make a public comment.
First thing first: please send the following email (or your own version) to Kristy.Exner@wcaa.us. to underline how inadmissible this was.
To the attention of the Wayne County Airport Authority board members: It came to my attention that the public meeting that you held on January 21th was attended by several dozens of citizens who had prepared public comments. These people present in the Zoom conference room had signaled their intention to make a public comment by raising their hand as the application allows. At no point, they were invited to speak: You have denied them the right of submitting their comment. Please provide a public rationale for this deny of democracy or be ready to be reported to AG Nessel and Wayne County Prosecutor’s office for violating the Michigan Open Meetings Act.
Second of all: let’s take down GlobalX, Key Lime, and Eastern Air Express like we did Avelo. 🧡Joyce🧡 is gathering information about them as you’re reading these lines. WtPD has also reached out to multiple partners to start a take down campaign. Soon we’ll be demanding they stop deporting Michiganders.
3/ 🧡Russ🧡 brought to our attention other cases of ICE gestapo-like behavior. Another detainee has been murdered: Geraldo Lunas Campos was asphyxiated by law enforcement while in custody in El Paso, TX as his autopsy revealed. 🧡Russ🧡 also came across an article revealing important leaked documents pertaining to the Abracadabra operation (no joke here), a secret ICE program uncovered by Ken Klippenstein. Please find below an excerpt. Contact Russ or us for full article: “As a military intelligence source told me, the ICE crackdown isn’t just about immigration; it’s about gathering intelligence in support of Trump’s war on cartels — as well as on Antifa, on the radical left, and those who are “anti-American,” and anyone else they consider terrorists. And since the administration has been so quick to label everyone, including Renee Good, terrorists, it’s no wonder they think they’re at war. ICE’s work is done under a set of task forces, with the agency calling upon other Department of Homeland Security agencies, like the Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations, the Federal Protective Service, and even the Secret Service. DHS now constitutes the largest federal law enforcement agency in the country — larger even than the FBI. And that was before ICE had its law enforcement budget nearly tripled last year.”
4/ Time for ICE being fully defunded, right?
Even though the DHS spending bill passed the House earlier today(Democratic traitors are: Henry Cuellar of Texas, Don Davis of North Carolina, Laura Gillen of New York, Vicente Gonzalez of Texas, Jared Golden of Maine, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington, and Tom Suozzi of New York), we have done a remarkable job at calling our elected officials offices. At 1 PM, Haley Stevens’s staff was telling everyone calling that Congresswoman Stevens was voting NO, and as you can see in the list below NO Michigan representatives voted for the bill. As the bill will head to the Senate, let’s continue calling Peters and Slotkin and please join us for a picket at their offices on Wednesday January 28th 1-3 PM, organized by 🧡Downriver United 734🧡! At 719 Griswold St (Slotkin) and 477 Michigan Ave (Peters). Dress up warmly and bring signs: NO MONEY FOR ICE (only salt!).
5/ Still about ICE: we are continuing our effort to call houses of worship around Detroit and Metro Detroit to ask them to participate in the Signs Of Solidarity initiative, an idea of 🧡Diane🧡. Please reach out to us if you wanna help make the calls. You can also get involved with churches and organizations who are already providing relief to detainees. Please see below the list that 🧡Linda🧡 put together. Just call and say you wanna help! Open arms and hearts will welcome you!!

6/ Additionally, please find below new numbers to call if you spot ICE:
7/ Please note that tomorrow will be our coldest rally of the year. That’s normal, we are protesting ICE and their cold blood murders. In Solidarity with Minnesotans, we stand and rally at 985 Michigan avenue at 4 PM. Please dress warmly. We will have a warm-up station inside St. Peters (1950 Trumbull St) with hot beverages providing by 🧡Linda🧡and 🧡Joyce🧡. From the Police/ICE building on Michigan avenue, it is a 8-minute walk.
8/ Also, in support of Minneapolis, SWMI INDIVISIBLE has put a fundraiser together: On Friday, January 23, Minnesota is rising up with statewide actions. We can’t be there in person – but we can be there in spirit by speaking with our wallets to show we Stand with Minnesota. Find your preferred fund on StandWithMinnesota.com and donate $26 by NOON Saturday, representing Michigan as the 26th state in the union to show Michiganders stand with Minnesotans! $26 donation/26 hours (10am Friday until noon Saturday)/$26,000 goal.
Smart. Simple.
9/ UNMASK ICE: call your State Senator and ask them to support SB 510. You can use this portal that the 🧡MI Freedom coalition🧡 prepared.
10/ Are we done with ICE? We so wish.
A last word from 🧡Gary🧡 who anticipates that ICE will be used against civilians at the time of the November 2026 election to confiscate voting machines in all key purple state cities, and he may very much be right. You can find here his Feasibility Manifesto: 11 Arguments for the Urgent Necessity & Surprising Feasibility of a National Nonviolent Civic Uprising & Social Strike, a 16-minute video worth of your time.
INTERNATIONAL BOGGLING
No doubt you all heard about THE most pathetic letter ever written by a president: Addressed to the Norwegian government to complain about a medal it does not even award and threatening it with a war about a territory it has no sovereignty over. Again, the circus. Except that the clown has the nuclear codes. And then… TACO. But I must admit… I like THIS taco very much. If you have some time to spend reading about the truth behing the President’s covetousness of Greenland, this article is insightful!
